SailFest Week with Gale and Marilyn and Repairs

Whew, what a week. Our friends Gale and Marilyn (St. Louis escapees from the cold) arrived last Sunday. The first night we just relaxed on the boat and stuffed ourselves with 2 kg of fresh shrimp purchased at the Mercado. You have to ease into the cruising lifestyle. Monday was spent exploring Zihuatanejo and having dinner at one of the restaurants adjoining the fishermanÕs beach. Tuesday we sailed over to Isla Grande located NW of Punta Ixtapa. The anchorage only had two boats in it and during the day it was quite calm, but at night the wind died and we were sideways to the surf. Now we know why there werenÕt more boats there. Never-the-less it was fun to explore the area. We had an unexpected visitor while there. A Brown Booby landed on the antenna pole and made himself at home. Boris went a little crazy barking and jumping at the pole, but the Booby just sat there. ÒOk, so get out the hoseÓ, someone said. ÒSpray him and heÕll fly away.Ó Boy did he love that; he spread his wings to get them showered off and had a grand time. After the
