It has been a very, very long time since the last log entry...We motored up the Intracoastal Waterway in May thru Florida without too many groundings. Then we took the offshore route from Fernindina, Florida to Charleston, SC with Tilt, a Passport47. After enjoying three wonderful days in Charleston we headed north via the Intracoastal. The water depth was a real problem from South Carolina north. We bumped along and went aground several times. Most of the time we could pull ourselves off with the dinghy, but then the outboard decided to die. We were then at the mercy of other boaters and fishermen - they were great. Finally we had to have Tow BoatUS pull us off when we went hard agound with the tide going out. Our next coastal trip will definitely be oceanside weather permitting. On Memorial Day weekend we pulled into our new slip in North Carolina. We are now getting Night Flight ready to head out at the end of January. Our friends Mark and Karen from San Francisco will be joining us for the voyage back to the Bahamas. A new adventure will begin.....
