Motored to Beaufort, NC on February 5 with Karen and Mark. Good thing that we were doing a shakedown cruise as the auto pilot locked up as we were rounding one of the ICW marks. Threw out an anchor and waited while Michael disengaged the system. Anchor up and we were on our way to self steer the rest of the way. Celebrated Michael's birthday at Clawson's restaurant and finished up dinner with the best mudpie ever.

February 6 Karen and Mark departed for Florida, and Michael searched for someone to repair the auto pilot. Found Cory, a great mechanic, who knows the Raymarine systems. Cory ran a full check of the system and determined that a loose screw was the culprit. We did a through run through after the fix and all worked well.

February 7 We motored back to New Bern with Marsha aboard. Marsha has a sailboat on Lake Wawasee in Indiana and, although we did not sail, she said she truly enjoyed the ride aboard. The auto pilot performed splendidly.

We are now awaiting our friend Gale to join us to continue our voyage south.
