Sunday, March 9

We have been staying in Vero Beach for over a week now. It is very nice here in the sheltered area off the municipal marina but we're itching to get along. Our next stop is a two day trip down the ICW to Lake Worth where we will await the next weather window for the crossing that looks like it may come mid-week. The temperatures are mid 70 to mid 80 during the day and cool at night. The costs are small, there is free bus service downtown, and the people are very pleasant. We took Boris on a long walk to the beach area Ð very posh! Unfortunately dogs are not allowed on the beach. On our way back from the beach we discovered the multi-theatre complex of the Riverside Theatre. Today (Sunday) we enjoyed Art under the Oaks in the park that adjoins the theatre. We also took in the Smokey JoeÕs CafŽ matinee. Outstanding performance by the ensemble in a great theatre space.

The fronts coming through here have been very mixed with occasional showers on Wednesday. Thursday the storms were more vigorous with thunder, lightening and very heavy rain.
