June 3
We departed the Charleston City Marina anchorage at 8:30AM and are now off the Charleston Inlet. Beautiful day with 15 knots of wind, calm seas, doing 4.2 knots under sail. The weather is supposed to hold for today, but the winds are to pick up tomorrow. The current plan is to enter the Cape Fear Inlet (I really do hate that name) in North Carolina tomorrow early AM. We will then spend a few days getting up to New Bern via the ICW. The tide timing is not great and we will only be able to travel a couple of hours in the morning. Stop for an afternoon break and then motor for a few more hours until dusk. Of course if the weather changes and we can stay ocean side that would be great.

June 4
Back in our home state of NC. Just arrived at South Harbour Village Marina, a marina that we stayed at last year. We actually sailed 75% of the trip from Charleston to here. The seas were low, breeze was steady and virtually no boat traffic on our route. It was all ideal until around 1:00AM when the wind picked up and shifted resulting
