Vero Beach, Peck Lake and Lake Worth

March 9 Š 16 Vero Beach
Our neighbors on the next mooring stopped by to say hello. Sterling and Kathy are from Palo Alto, CA. Today is laundry day so we hauled the dirty clothes up to the marina laundry. It is not so bad to laundry while cruising since you get to socialize with other cruisers during the process. The week here in Vero was filled here with activities:
- Delta Rocket launch for the Kepler planet finding telescope from Cape Canaveral sixty miles away. We watched from the luxury of Night FlightÕs cockpit
- Cocktails aboard Night Flight with Sterling and Kathy
- Beach walk and drinks at one of the Oceanside bar
- Shuttle Launch from Cape Canaveral Š watched once again from the cockpit. The exhaust from the shuttle was beautiful as it was sunset and the colors changed from blue to white to shades of orange. The rockets were heard about six minutes after the shuttle passed by.
- St. PatrickÕs Day Parade on Ocean Avenue
- Great farmerÕs market. Michael bought fresh squeezed OJ tinted green for St. PattyÕs Day
- Vero Beach Art Fair, with over 100 artists from all over the country. I purchased some beautiful pottery: a
