Fernandina Beach, FL March 11, 2010
Greetings from rainy Fernandina Beach. Night Flight is tied up at the dock having arrived here Tuesday night around 8:30PM. It was a 60 hour ocean ride of 440 nautical miles from the Morehead City Yacht Basin to the Fernandina Beach Marina. We had sunny skies, wind now and then, seas that were mixed to seas that were flat. It was a good trip.
Yesterday was gorgeous and warm. Gale and Michael were ready for shorts....I need a tan first. We had breakfast at T-Rays, a converted gas station that is now a very funky lunch and breakfast spot. In the afternoon Boris and us did lot of walking around the town visiting some of the art studios.
Gale departed for parts north mid-afternoon. It was great to have him along. He likes to do the 3:00AM to 6:00AM watch!
Today it is pouring down rain with thunderstorms predicted later on. The new dodger is working great with no leaks. Boris is happy.
The Concourse d'Elegance is being held here on Saturday. Since it looks like rain for the next two days we will probably stay around here for a few days. Most |
