Wednesday 09.27.05 - drm Ann, Michael, Elisa, David. N35 21.97 W120 51.32 On Tuesday, after a lazy morning in Santa Cruz, we left for Morro Bay around 3:00pm. The weather was predicted light and variable out of the southwest clocking around to the northwest later in the day. Friends Kings Quest moved out earlier going directly to Santa Barbara. Topaz headed for Monterey. The winds were not as predicted! Winds were 22 to 28 kts out of the northwest with rollers 5-7 feet on our stern! We had a wild ride until about 3am on Wednesday when the seas finally calmed down. Crew member David will remember the trip well-as the mal de mer crept up on him and hit him broadside for about 12 hours. He wasn't a happy puppy. Arrived in Morro Bay around 11am. Nice little community. Little shops, art galleries, etc. We found an internet cafe and a great ice cream shop! Crew member Elisa is trying her best to get used to hot showers and wine with her meals - she is more used to the rigors of racing - so this is really a great trip for
