| Not ready to depart Mazatlan yet we took Night Flight out of the marina to Deer Island that sits just off the Mazatlan shore. Stella, Lynn, Karen and Mark joined us. We ran the watermaker to fill the tanks as we enjoyed exploring the shore, snorkeling and investigating the tide pools. After a wonderful lunch aboard we motored back to the marina to find Wind Witch, Passport 40, docked directly across from us. Our friends, Bill and Liddy Schmidt and Schooner (Portuguese water dog) had arrived from Los Frailes, where they had been held hostage by 40 knot winds for several days. We all celebrated their arrival by dining at the El Cid restaurant on the beach. On Friday we did some additional provisioning by joining Sam's Club. We loaded up the Pulmonia (overgrown golf cart that serves as a taxi) with Stella's provisions and ours. Not five minutes out of the parking lot the bag of avocados and onions were thrown out of the front seat. Thank goodness it wasn't one of us. A quick stop and retrieval of the bag and we were off. Chalk up another adventure! |
