We have taken the opportunity between Christmas and New Year's Day to travel south from Mazatlan Mexico after staying over a month there. Mazatlan is a lovely, friendly, and charming city that has provided mostly warm weather and sunny skies since Thanksgiving. We had a great time with Christmas Eve dinner down at a European-style outdoor restaurant in the Machada in old town Mazatlan and a big feast aboard Night Flight for Christmas day.
We decided to head south to maintain the warm weather and sailed another 100 miles overnight to an island about 20 miles off the mainland coast and are presently anchored there at least for tonight. Isla Isabela is a bird refuge that has thousands of Frigates, Gooney birds, and many other species. We plan to dive a bit here before moving on to Chacala and Puerto Vallarta for New Years.
We will be in Radio contact without High Speed web access for at least a week so respond to WDC7000@sailmail.com and tell us how you holiday is going.
