Hola,

We departed La Cruz at 4:30AM this morning and arrived in the Punta Ipala anchorage around noon. Saw lots of dolphins as we approached. It is not a large anchorage and we were the first boat in. We hit something on the way out of Banderas Bay, but don't know what. It could have been a whale. A loud thud and then several more as it passed under the keel. No damage, but sure a bang. Believe me that wakes you up. The Punta Ipala anchorage is well protected from the north and west, but is still a little rolly. Just got back from taking Boris into the beach where he met a very nice chocolate brown female lab. She followed him around for a while and then decided on a siesta. Michael and I stopped off for some ice cold cervezas and chips with wonderful dip composed of guacamole, tomatoes, red onions, green pepper and crumpled Mexican cheese. Around the side of the dish were sweet cucumbers quartered. Quite delicious! It was a huge serving; I think that was dinner. There are three restaurants in this small village overlooking the anchorage, but no homes or shops. I
